What is Affiance Coaching?

 

Our focus is simple: we coach teams to reach optimum levels of productivity.

At Affiance Coaching, our work is based on conation as defined as action derived from instinct. Conation is all about your gut response. It’s your default setting — how you take action even when you’re not aware of it.

Employees will reach optimum levels of productivity when working in their “instinctive mode” — that is, in a way that’s consistent with their natural, intuitive responses. When teams understand how each member instinctively takes action, they are able to work together to unleash true synergy.

All Kolbe materials have been developed by Kathy Kolbe and Kolbe Corp. At Affiance Coaching, our job is to bring this content to life. Every journey into Kolbe starts with the Kolbe A™ Index. Your answers to this 36-item questionnaire reveal how you take action. Actions are organized into four innate categories, represented by the four Kolbe Action Modes®.

The example to the right depicts Erin Werde’s Kolbe A™ Index result. The top line describes the Action Modes®. The bottom line is one word that describes what this score, or number, means in terms of actual behavior. The four modes are as follows:

Fact Finder – the instinctive way we gather and share information.
Follow Thru – the instinctive way we organize.
Quick Start – the instinctive way we deal with risk and uncertainty.
Implementor – the instinctive way we handle space and tangibles.

 

 

 

The numbers in each Kolbe Action Modes® represents different points on a continuum, each translating into a way of taking action. Kolbe Corp research has found that for every individual, the results remain constant over time.

Be aware there are no ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ results. Each point on the continuum indicates a positive trait.

So what?

You may be thinking — this all sounds well and good, but why does this information matter?

In today’s business world, there are many limitations — time, energy, resources, etc. When employees are working in their instinctive modes, they report increased job satisfaction, and employers find higher levels of productivity.
